For one week I have been to Pakistan to experience the region outside of Afghanistan as well. A little selection of the many impressions follows below. The first two pictures show the inofficial way through the mountains from Kabul to the border which I could use fortunately. By the way: The meaning of Pakistan is "clean country" which does not mean that it is so nice and clean there. The state has been created once for muslims. / Eine Woche lang bin ich in Pakistan gewesen, um auch einmal die Region außerhalb Afghanistans näher kennenzulernen. Eine kleine Auswahl der vielen Eindrücke gibt es unten. Die ersten beiden Bilder zeigen den inoffiziellen Weg durch die Berge von Kabul bis zur Grenze, den ich glücklicherweise benutzen konnte. Übrigens: Der Name Pakistan bedeutet "sauberes Land", was nicht heißt, daß es dort so schön und sauber ist. Der Staat wurde für Muslime gegründet.

On the way to Islamabad. Here crossing the famous Durand-line which marks the big area of Pakistan which belonged to Afghanistan once before the state Pakistan has been created. And still there is much more Afghan culture remained than the influence of Pakistan could change it during the past 100 years. / Unterwegs nach Islamabad. Hier beim Überqueren der berühmten Durand-Linie, die den großen Teil Pakistans markiert, der einmal zu Afghanistan gehörte, bevor der Staat Pakistan gegründet wurde. Und auch heute ist dort viel mehr afghanische Kultur übriggeblieben als der pakistanische Einfluß während der letzten 100 Jahre hat verändern können.
